Fixed-fee certainty vs. open-ended engagements
Most enterprise AI firms run on day rates, retainers, and discovery cycles that last weeks before any work begins. Kelriva operates differently — every engagement is scoped in writing, priced before it starts, and delivered on a fixed timeline.
| Kelriva AI | Typical Enterprise AI Firm | |
|---|---|---|
| Proposal turnaround | 48 hours, in writing | 2–4 weeks of discovery calls |
| Pricing model | Fixed fee — you know the cost before we start | Day rate or time & materials |
| Retainer required | Never | Often 3–12 months minimum |
| Delivery timeline | Weeks | Months |
| Scope commitment | Written and signed before work starts | Evolves during the engagement |
| Architecture | Model-agnostic — no vendor lock-in | Often AWS, Azure, or OpenAI locked |
| Minimum entry point | From £4,500 with working output | Often £50k+ before proof of value |
| Production quality | Benchmarked, documented, handed over | Varies — often requires further investment |
This reflects common patterns in UK enterprise AI consulting — day rates, multi-week discovery, retainer minimums — based on publicly published pricing pages and engagement structures we reviewed as of June 2026. It describes how Kelriva's fixed-fee model differs, not a claim about any single named competitor.
No surprises. Scope first, then build.
You email us
Describe what you need. One paragraph is enough. We reply within 24 hours.
We scope it
We send a written scoping document within 48 hours — what we build, what we don't, and the fixed fee.
We sign and start
You approve the scope. We sign an NDA if needed. Work starts the following week.
You receive the deliverables
On time, on scope, on budget. Every engagement ends with a documented handover.
Can the packages be combined?
Yes. The AI Readiness Assessment often leads directly into one of the build packages. If you start with the assessment and then commission an IDP PoC or Agent MVP within 30 days, we credit £1,000 toward the build package fee.
What if my requirements are larger than a single package?
The productized packages are for well-defined starting points. For more complex or ongoing engagements — multi-system integrations, bespoke architecture, team augmentation — we scope these separately. Email us and we will propose a structure that fits.
Do you offer retainers or ongoing support?
Yes, optionally. After any build engagement, we can offer a 3-month or 6-month support retainer covering bug fixes, model updates, and minor feature additions. Like everything else on this page, you will see the exact price in writing before agreeing to anything — we just wait until handover to scope it, since the right level of support depends on how the system performs in production, not on assumptions made before it exists.
Can you work with data that has GDPR or compliance constraints?
Yes. We sign an NDA before any data is shared. We build systems that can run on-premise or in UK/EU-hosted environments where required. Data residency and compliance requirements are captured in the scoping document.
What if the scope changes during the engagement?
We scope tightly. If requirements change materially, we surface this immediately with a written change request and cost impact before proceeding. We do not continue work without written approval of scope changes.
One email is enough
Describe what you are trying to automate or improve. We will recommend the right starting point and tell you honestly if none of these packages fits — and what would.
